Tightly plotted and deeply suspenseful, Superstition is Karen Robards’s most captivating work yet. Sure it’s Robards, so superstitiin not groundbreaking by any means I like to think of her books as slightly more laren Mills and Boon but I came to enjoy it quite a bit.


But something goes terribly wrong during the segment, and a young woman is murdered in the exact same manner as Tara Mitchell was fifteen years earlier.

I have read some of her books but several years ago one in particular written with a diabetic girl as a primary character had the facts so skewed I having raised an insulin dependent diabetic son became so angered that I refuse to read another of her books.

This book seemed like it followed a formula including “put TSTL moment here” followed by “allow hero to save heroine here”. They got better as the book went on, but I came close to giving up on the book almost straight away when they came across as being so one-dimensional and almost irritating, in many ways.

I kept thinking Nora Roberts wrote it, with the red-haired feisty protagonist. She is a fantastic author.
