Fred SanfordApr 15, Now I’ll start the detailing process to the veneer with woodfill and final sanding. Here’s the driver set from the ‘s. We use these in all JBL speaker restorations. If you are a big fan of the east coast sound, odds are the JBLs will not be your cup of tea. The pots are definitely dirty.

I’m sure replacement dust covers are available, and I’ve seen tweeters for jlb on ebay pretty regularly.
One cabinets has little corner scuff and there is a faint ring on the top of the the other one. I’ll check them out. The L’s are now finished. I did not repaint the backs of the speakers, perhaps I should have.
I’m adding an edge molding to the front of the L’s.

The mids have the silver basket, and the inverted dustcaps. I’ll take some photos of the components later, they are beautifully made, like all the JBL speakers of the 70’s. Any easy way to tell if the drivers 43111 original? The L-pads for the mids and tweets have been cleaned and they work well.

I just decided it wasn’t too noticeable and not really worth getting a new tweeter for. ON the L’s, here’s what I was facing. If you keep the houseplants and cat piss 43311 them you’ll probably get back about what you paid, should you ever decide to sell. I did hesitate, for about five minutes, because there are some split seams and worn 431 on the “bottoms” of the cabinets where the controls are which is the side I would put “up” to keep the mid and tweet higher.
Drivers are in perfect condition. Here, the walnut ‘s are all set for finish. Unless they’re B’s with the Hbl, maybe you’ll get lucky and find an early set with the alnico pro driver. The rest of the photos below are of the ‘s. Once the detailed sanding and filling are done, I put a coat of Watco Danish oil on them and do even more detail work to make sure that no glue shows.
JBL 4311? Willi I be disappointed?
The ‘s will simply be sanded and refinished. I think they are the walnut version, but I don’t know if they have the AlNiCo drivers. The fronts and backs have new black paint. I haven’t agreed to purchase, only to look at them. The veneer has been sanded to grit and the fronts and backs of the L’s have new black paint. Here they are with the cane grills. I still have the In my opinion the B’s are better than the earlier alnico version but both are awesome. In great working condition.
Great for a lot of classic rock. With the old crossovers I was getting a muddy m I installed walnut veneer around these knobs to replace the worn out metal plate that was originally there. So I’ll be reveneering these. I did repaint the fronts so they are very clean.
I made new black grills. The darker areas are where I wetted the veneer tape to scrape it off. But don’ let that sway you. These originally had the segmented foam grills and someone replaced them with similar foam.
