Dull, dry and monotone. But as it stands this was just a so-so read for me.

You’ll notice that one of them is tue “seventies-classics”. As with the rest of the book, the intricacy of the details is very impressive. It is a forty-five year old novel so the technology and some of the techniques are dated. Dad is the Vietnam veteran and career police officer. The Man with the Golden Gun.


You submitted the following rating and review. However, for me, my lack of investment in the narrative continued to plague me and so the amount of tension of which there should have been plenty was running on empty.

But, the respect people of different backgrounds have for a person’s abilities, talents, and skills can bridge continents. First of all, the premise is extraordinary, yet extremely realistic. The fourth part of the book is the climax where we have the Jackal closing in on his target and the Frenchies closing in on the Jackal. The Jackal ,however, is a very smart man who is careful ,meticulous, motivated and lucky.

This question contains spoilers… view spoiler [The only reason I didn’t give this book 5 stars was because I wanted th Jackal to get away at the end of the book. I think anyone who enjoys that kind of thing will find this story more enjoyable than I did.

I read The Odessa File when I was ten years old. I did an event with Freddy years ago in Australia and I was so nervous to meet him but he was such a charming gentleman–and very kind to me. Smyth sewing and concealed muslin joints to ensure the highest quality binding.
