Thoroughly enjoyed this non preachy totally religious novel and will read more from this author. There are sightings of angles and messianic images, and a crucifix cries liqu When I first picked up The VisitationI had one question that I desperately wanted to know the answer to.

The book takes place in the small sleepy town of Antioch, Washington. Centered on the life of Travis Jordan, The Visitation begins when miracles, ranging from a healing, weeping crucifix to sights of Jesus in the clouds, start occurring, giving way to the arrival of a man who calls himself Brandon Nichols.

The story has a lighter feel than his others, but the dark atmosphere is still there. I love these symbolic terms and initials used; moreover, he touches on wolves in sheep clothing–this type of deception will cost people souls straight to HELL! And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why this is my favorite Peretti book! This audiobook can be listened to on: Very personal, very intimate and so much like the one I share frxnk my dear husband. He acts very kind and understanding, and never directly says he is Jesus, but hints at it and says he is peretyi.


Travis and his wife pastor the church for 15 years, and Travis sees God do many miraculous things. Peretti later spent time studying English, screen writing and film at UCLA and then assisted his father in pastoring a small Assembly of God church. This book was very similar to Silas Marner in that the main character suffers a tragedy and stops trusting God.

View all 7 comments. Travis tells Nichols how he has learned from watching Nichols that he will now start trusting God again. I can’t say which take on the idea I like better – they’re both well-written and pereyti.

They call the state police and everyone gathers in front of crank ranch mansion. Although I fully appreciate it will not be to everyone’s taste.
