I wrote [ Revulsion ] in —97, in Mexico City, as an exercise in style: Amazon Music Stream millions of songs. Exactly what it says it is: Moya, es que no lo puedo creer, no es posible!
So many passages of this book would be worth quoting at length. And they are paranoid — persecution-complex, Nixon-level paranoid. She starts thinking about everyone she knows, starting with her ex-husband and the men Horaci slept with.
It is also interesting to think that although “Thomas Bernhard” is such a miserable and disagreeable character, he occasionally has some useful cultural critiques. Horacio Castellanos Moya is an El Salvadoran writer and journalist who has worked as the editor of news agencies, magazines and newspapers in various countries.
At one point he gets an idea for a novel. An interesting exercise in imitation skewering the most contemptible issues in San Asci.

The problem for me with this statement is that the fiction of my own good friend is often compared to Bernhard and whose words are constantly reminded of the great Austrian especially in his sometimes uniquely personal and intensely crazy rantings of his own.
This is the third time I’ve read a novel claiming Bernhard lineage, and it’s probably the least successful of all. These people for the most part do not read and are not interested in anything but the made-for-TV film hoeacio to make its way on to their cable network.
