It still works fine, but I am waiting for it to start failing me.
So, it’s good for self portraits and test shots but I wanted something that would allow me to still be able to look through the viewfinder behind the camera and line up my shot and get a picture with no camera shake. This ingenious device is a must have if you shoot long exposures.

I have had occasional problems using the wireless remote with not being able to get the shutter to close once open mainly due to line of sight.
Comments have been made in other reviews about the construction of the RS.

I don’t like to have potential problems lurking in my camera bag so this really causes me anxiety.

The build quality is saitch low, canon is making a lot of money on this one. Please check your local sales tax laws. Feels like it is made out of hallow plastic and probably is.

Some are cheaper than dirt and others with little or more options run on the high side. So I bought another.
So, even though the RSN3 has a chord it is easier to use then the wireless one. Place your order by 5pm Wed Jan 2 and your order cannon ship the same day.
Reemote virtually the same as the far more expensive TCN3, less the timer. Thus, I depend solely on the commissions received from you using the links on this site to make any purchase. International orders are processed the next shipping day. I am glad I don’t have to use the timer on my camera any more, just would have been nice if the body was made out of aluminum.
Happy New Year ! In less than a year the rubber wire attachment at the top of the remote has opened up and exposed the copper wiring underneath.

It worked like that for a while but then started to intermittently not react to commands. The Canon Remote Switch RSN3 is very light but relatively expensive but valuable to own – it is a valuable piece of kit to have. There are times you need to garantee your composition doesn’t budge the slightest bit – the RSN3 is the tool to ensure just that.
The switch arrived timely and is doing the job I hoped it would. Combine this device with tripod, a good prime lens, a stopped down aperture setting and mnaual slap enabled and you’ve got a formula for some very sharp photography. Other inexpensive third party canpn releases don’t have this locking plug.
