This is a very powerful autobiography. However, I came to feel that I would not like her very much, as she was pushy, demanding, emphasising constantly ho Buchi Emecheta had a hard life, but I found myself losing sympathy with her as she seemed to dwell rather too much on the “poor me” side of things.
