I can’t bring that up without diverting into a mini-rant.
This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. It was an ok hende, not the best in its genre, but it wasn’t bad either. In this book we go full scale on the vampire side, through the eyes of vampires who are yet ignorant of themselves and what they are.
Mostly set up, memorkes really a story. I actually won the third book, but Barb Hendee was a sweetheart and mailed me the first two as well. Eleisha abilities that are unique from other vampires.
But the ideas and plot behind it all were intriguing.

The story is told mostly in first person from her POV and it’s strangely fascinating to read about how she lives and how she learned to continue her existance. Eleisha narrates, though there are flashbacks told telepathically through memories that shift to third-person.

Paperbackpages. I’ll try book two, Hunting Memories after all, isn’t that what I was just forced to buy to learn anything that happens to these characters? Her writing isn’t really engaging either and while I enjoyed the story, I wasn’t drawn into it. However, the story itself did start to lose my interest towards the end for a bit. In the world of Vampire novels, this is an older one. Don’t let the cover fool you, this isn’t like other Urban Fantasys.
Elisha was born a servant and her naturally servile and vulnerable nature has become so exaggerated as a vampire that men cannot help wanting to take care of her. Eleisha Clevon has the face of a teen angel, but she is no angel. With that in mind, would I want to read a sequel to Blood Memories?
I will say that Blood Barg should appeal to fans who have an interest in vampire lore along with a twist on the legend and myth. The action comes on suddenly and things seem to jump around too much and a bit too fast in some passages, as if Hendee was trying to put as much information as she can out there without enough descriptions to back it up.
I just don’t like it when the main characters take a second, third and even fourth seat to some minor character. I never felt like especially connected to Eleisha and felt the characters slightly lackluster.
