As I have read the first part more then once this time around the last part about ascetic ideals was my favorite. Perhaps this is the very origin of the gods, that is, an origin from fear! I enjoyed the read, not because I agree with everything Nietzsche writes and not because I found the structure compelling nietzscbe the argument entirely cohesive, but because reading Genealogy makes you think and encourages critical engagement: However, if I were to guess, I think Nietzsche finds religion to be a larger threat to humanity than war because religion prevents people from being that which makes us human, although I could be wrong.

Nietzsche seems to prefer this basis of thinking than the slave morality, most likely because Nietzsche favors strength over weakness.
